Mail boss steals thousands from birthday cards

We finally found someone that acts likes a banker, who works as a postman.

A Royal Mail manager who stole cash from children's birthday cards to fund a lavish lifestyle was jailed for six months yesterday.

David Baker, 47, stole notes and even coins from envelopes which were destined for youngsters - then threw the cards in the bin.

He is believed to have stolen thousands during his 23-year career.

The sorting office manager targeted colourful envelopes he knew would contain money being sent as gifts to children and ripped them open to take cash and gift tokens.
