This isn't something new. Goldman has been increasing their targets on stocks in their research by a few dollars, "normalizing" growth, so you can fit it in a private equity model.
I noticed this in their research starting in July. The week before that, they had bumped up their targets in tech names, because of M&A possibilities.
Just another sign that M&A, and soon LBOs will be back.
