Here's what he said:
"I don't want to injure anybody," Harrison said following Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns where he knocked wide receivers Joshua Cribbs and Mohamed Massaquoi out of the game with helmet-to-helmet hits. "There's a big difference between being hurt and being injured. You get hurt, you shake it off and come back the next series or the next game. I try to hurt people."
"I thought Cribbs was asleep," Harrison said. "A hit like that geeks you up, especially when you find out the guy is not really hurt, he's just sleeping. He's knocked out but he's going to be OK."

im a browns fan and love cribs but the two plays are very different. cribbs was carrying the football, not in a defenseless positions ( like a reciever), and he was knocked into harrisons path by another defender (woodley). if he gets a fine for that it will be ticky tacky. moh massaqui was cutting across the middle not carrying a ball. maybe a fine for that one, however harrison didnt lead with helmet, it looked like a forearm smash to me.
but if the nfl is in the players health interests, then why was there was no foul on the play? a fine doesnt do much to a multimillionaire as a 15 yd penalty.

The Harrison hits were legal according to NFL rules, but he received a huge fine to give the appearance that the NFL is serious about protecting players. On the NFL.com website they were selling pictures of the hits by Harrison, so it seems a little hypocritical.
