Unemployment rate 5.7%

The U-6 unemployment rates went up to 10.3%, from 9.9%.

A year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.7%, the U-6 rate was 8.3%.

Today we have 5.7% and 10.3%.

The U-6 rate includes those employed part time for economic reasons, and the "marginally attached" workers.

Marginally attached are just discouraged workers. They are neither working or looking for work, but they were in the past. Brett Favre would be a "marginally attached" worker, but somehow Green Bay doesn't want to hire him!

But the U-6 rate is getting high enough, that a turn in the economy is just a Presidential election away.
