Geithner: "I know nothing" defense crumbles!

Put on toupee on Colonel Klink, and he could be Secretary of the Treasury!

Look at Geithner's tack on taking responsibility:

Geithner said he learned the full scale of the bonus problems on March 10.

"It's my responsibility; I was in a position where I didn't know about those sooner. I take full responsibility for that," he said.

Just like his taxes:

"These were careless mistakes. They were avoidable mistakes, but they were unintentional," Geithner told the Senate Finance Committee. "I should have been more careful. I take full responsibility for them."

So Geithner lies without lying, because he says he learned the "full scale" of his bonuses, when staffers, told him the bonuses would be a "hot button" on February 28.

Look what Time magazine had to say:

Treasury Learned of AIG Bonuses Earlier Than Claimed

...sources tell TIME that the New York Federal Reserve informed Treasury staff that the payments were imminent on Feb. 28. That is 10 days before Treasury staffers say they first learned "full details" of the bonus plan, and three days before the Administration launched a new $30 billion infusion of cash for AIG.

Geithner now has become the new face of bailout scorn; and the public is chanting!

Heh heh
Heh ho
Timmy G
Has got to go!
