AIG bonuses are now up to $218 miilion

$165 million wasn't enough. Now it is up to $218 million!

March 21 (Bloomberg) -- American International Group Inc., which sparked a national furor by paying executive bonuses after receiving a federal bailout, paid $218 million in bonuses, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal told the Wall Street Journal.

The amount paid is more than the $165 million in bonuses previously disclosed by the New York-based insurer, the newspaper said

AIG employees have until 5 p.m. Monday to let the financial products division know how much of their bonus they will keep or give back.
