Happy Birthday Mr. President.

Since we don't have Marilyn Monroe to sing "Happy Birthday Mr. President".....you will have to get your Presidential birthday cards from the RNC!

Maybe the RNC, in the Kennedy tradition, can send over Vera Baker!

White House energy advisor--Oil from the gulf is gone

The “vast majority” of crude from BP Plc’s damaged Gulf of Mexico well is gone and the rest is being broken down by waves and bacteria, reducing the threat of further pollution from the largest maritime oil spill, White House energy adviser Carol Browner said.

“The vast majority of the oil has been contained, it’s been burned, it’s been cleaned,” Browner said on CBS’s “Early Show” today. The remaining oil “will weather, it will break down naturally. Mother Nature will do her part.”

In Iran a firecracker is a gernade

So Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad "survived" an "assination" attempt, when someone threw a firecracker, that was called a grenade by the media. Fox News dutifuly picke dup the story

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A conservative website says a handmade grenade has exploded near President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's convoy in western Iran.

The website, khabaronline.ir, says the blast took place Wednesday in Hamedan as Ahmadinejad was about to address a crowd

Al Alam, a state-run Arabic-language TV channel, reported that the firecracker was set off to cheer the president.

When that happens in Iran, we joke about it.

When the bears prophecy Armageddon on Wall Street, we don't even get a retraction!

Pollyanna looks at the jobs report

So Friday we supposedly have another BBE (Big Bad Event). Big Deal.

ADP has missed forecasts by about 137,000 in 3 out of the last 4 months --so that being the case--you could say that the jobs number Friday (since ADP showed 42,000 this morning) could be closer to 180,000 jobs. Now I know that is terribly pollyanish, but let me throw that out there.

Now wage and salary growth sucks (less than 1%)--but last quarter tax receipts grew 4.5%.

BBE?

Doubtful!!

Artist hawking Michelle Obama bust

It's your chance to get a piece of the Obama's.....

And since the Prez is spending his birthday alone in Chicago without the wife and kids....

Today's depressionista bears could of worked for the New York Sun

In 1835, the New York Sun had a story "Great Astronomical Studies" where they had this to say about the moon--four foot bat like creatures that were visible from a telescope from the Cape of Good Hope:

“They average four feet in height, were covered, except on the face, with short and glossy copper-colored hair, and had wings composed of thin membrane. … Their wings possessed great expansion and were similar in structure to those of the bat. … The wings seemed completely under the command of volition, for those of the creatures whom we saw bathing in the water, spread them instantly to their full width, waved them as ducks do theirs to shake off the water, and then as instantly closed them again in a compact form. … Whenever we afterwards saw them, these creatures were evidently engaged in conversation.”

The diffference between today's doomsdayers, is that some readers of the New York Sun knew that they were describing a hoax.

We have the same hoax now from the bears.

Sensationalizing news stories to get circulation!

But then again, isn't this Ursa Minor?

It looks like the Far East dragon is still taking the little bear down!!

Morning tout sheet

GS tout sheet

The dip on MA this morning was really brief. Goldman was behind this name this morning. Their tout sheet.

Traders eyeing RIMM

Why wouldn't you take a shot? You only have a couple points of downside. Check out the chart.

The September options have a implied volatility of 48. You think they're that high, because the stock isn't going to move?

Time for "rinse, wash, repeat?"

Breakouts in this market always get sold.

But don't get too bearish bulls!!

Bulls have balls!

Solar is in play

SOLF got a bid for 49.99% of the company from Hanwha Chemical. The derivative play on this move is Canadian Solar (CSIQ) which traders should gravitate to.

A tale of two graphs--or the definition of a "good spec!"

Here's a couple of charts for you folks to ponder. Nothing like picking a double implant booty bottom--again!!

Here is LVS today:

And here was LVS when it was touted less than a month ago:

Vacation's over--Time to get back to work!

Start with buying LVS!!!

The 23 calls on LVS look like a good spec!

But wait--don't ponder too long, because I'm going to book my 400% gains on my LVS August 23 calls, as MaCau gaming revenue was up 70% in July as folks decided to bet in the casinos now that the World Cup was over.

So you should probably get some more action in LVS. But me? I'm booking some gains! 400% in four weeks.

Where's the black tape?

The black tape is on the floor!

And that's this market.

When it goes down, the bears talk as though the world will collapse.  When it goes up, the world collapses around the shorts positions.

All because they can't read the tape!!

Even though they are sitting on the linoleum floor.

Drinking cheap scotch!!

As advertised!!!

European banks scream

So how about over here?  Don't the banks in Europe have all the exposure?

The banks in Japan bounced, ostensibly because of the bounce in Europe, but Japan banks are only 13.5X earnings, and since Europe bounced, and since Japan bounced, then the best and two easiest plays in big cap bank stocks over here are Wells Fargo and Bank of America, which I advertised on it's double implant booty bottom.

Wells has great spreads, and now the traders will gravitate to these names.  And then, Wall Street will say that the rally in the banks, confirm the rally in the stock market.

After the fact that is!!!

When they should check out the bottoms in these names now!

Mutual fund Monday

Look to hear from some of the bears that today is just Mutual Fund Monday, where stocks get marked up.

So why then, didn't these geniuses pick up stocks on Friday morning at the pre-market lows as advertised here??

Another As Advertised!!!!

Take stock on this morning's dip

We're now under 10,300 on the Dow, and 1083 on the S&P.

I think we have a worthwhile entry point this morning, right here in the futures, taking the opposite side of the traders selling in the pits!

Here comes the bride

Isn't he a banker that used to do "God's work"?

So flame me; I'm a fan of Clinton!

Wait----what happened to the "crash" in China???

So China has some empty buildings. Big deal. What ever happened to the CRE crisis over here? But check out what has happened to markets.

Well take a look at what has moved the past month.

But really--does anybody really care??? I mean, we were told by the bears that Spain was toast. But who really cares??? Has anyone even noticed what has happened around the world the past month??

So, now we may double dip because Uncle Senile, (I mean Mr. Greenspan) states that housing could lead us into a double dip?

Give me a break.

China is cookin', along with the rest of the world.

And Greenspan?

It's bathtub time!!

The daily Goldman "tout" report

The Goldman tout report

The bull market snaps back!!!

Oh My!!!

Time to check out CBOE

At 26 and change, it needs to be bought.
